Disney Buys Out Marvel Comics

I've read a couple hours ago on many RSS feeds online, talks about Disney Buying Out Marvel. Apparently this is true. Disney has bought Marvel Comics for an estimated 4 billion dollars.

So what does this really mean? I guess you can expect Spiderman to great you at the gates of Disneyland.

I was thinking its a possible hoax. After i read more and more and watched more news clips i realized it was reality. The King of Pop had died of a heart attack.

Transformers: Racism

Just watched Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen. The effects and story in this sequel was actually quite good. But however there is a big problem I've seen that has carried on from the previous film. Yet again Micheal Bay has introduced his vision of "Black" good guys. Characters using part Patwa accents mixed with urban youth slang.

Twilight: New Moon trailer aired during the MTV Movie awards.

Complete and utter garbage. You'd think after the amount of money its made from the first one they would improve in their effects department. Looking at that wolf reminds me of movies such as 10, 000 BC. A REAL movie would be like "Company of Wolves". No CG and the effects are incredibly realistic. I think film makers should go back in time and review the forgotten greats of cinema. Twilight is a shameful award stealer which will continue to haunt Hollywood for the next couple of years.

There is big talk about a new type of worm virus attacking networked computers. Currently called the "conficker" virus. It is suspected to take full affect possibly on April Fools Day. Hopefully its a joke. But its always good to stay protect. Never leave a machine unprotected. Get anti-virus!

The Day The Earth Stood Still

So for my birthday gift from family, they gave me tickets to see The Day The Earth Stood Still, since it came out on my birthday, though i did not watch it on my birthday. Got smashed instead that day and decided to watch it another day. Okay that sounds confusing... bottom line.. saw the movie.

The special effects were pretty good, the story was pretty good (understand its a remake) however the acting could have been better but hey.. its Keanu Reeves what do you expect.

The film keeps pushing the point that humans need to change their violent habits towards each other and the planet. However this doesn't happen! Yet the aliens are like okay... we believe you.

7/10 (for having an awesome robot shoot lasers from his face)

Film sucked. Its for female teenagers to drool over a fictional character.

Make up work was atrocious. The mother character of Edward in the film had paint that barely extended to the scalp. At first I was like.. oh maybe its sunblock. NOPE! Just shitting ass work by 11 make up artists in the "professional" field of cinema. Apparently the vampires can go in the sun... but OH NO lets not do that.. instead of burning up into flames we might get all shiny and "beautiful" and we defiantly don't want that.

-400 / 10 (minus 400 just because they decided it might be a good idea to do 4 more sequels)

Bigfoot Found Dead?

Two men from Georgia, by the names of Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer are claiming they have found bigfoot dead and are keeping it frozen in ice and water. They say it stands at 7 foot 7.

I'm personally skeptical about this... but i guess its just a waiting game until the two men allow media and scientists to check it out; which i highly doubt will happen.

UPDATE: It was after all a hoax. They couldn't fool me! but however they sure stirred up quite a lot of international attention with it. OH and let us not forget the fact that they cashed in on quite a lot of money because of this.

Chupacabra Mystery Finally Solved

I was watching the news today and it turns out police caught footage of the Chupacabra which looked exactly the same as what I had thought it would; according to descriptions from witnesses. It also proves the photos of the Chupacabra, as a mammal, real that I've seen floating over the past several years. Its a four legged mammal that sucks blood much like a vampire-bat. Often confused as a coyote the Chupacabra prays mostly on sheep and smaller mammals. The Chupacabra is generally a nocturnal mammal since its mostly seen at night, stalking on farm animals.

Prior to the feature presentation of The Dark Knight, in theaters, was a trailer for a new film coming out in 2009 called "The Watchmen". Originally a graphic novel, DC has decided to make it a live action film and omg... does it look impressive.

The Dark Knight

Just watched The Dark Knight, staring Christian Bail as Batman, Heath Ledger as The Joker and Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent. I was completely blown away by the gravity of this film. the outstanding performance by Heath Ledger combined with intense action, drama and plenty of twists and surprises to keep you glued to the screen hoping to nature doesn't call.

This is by far one of the best comic book to movie film I have ever seen. The Joker's character was terrifying thanks to Heath Ledger. He created a genuinely creepy and realistic Joker we have yet to see on screen. Jack Nicholson's rendition of the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman filmed in the 1990's was in no doubt good... but however there is no comparison with the level of performance by Heath Ledger.

I can't say too much about the film since its filled with twists and surprises. You defiantly have to check it out for yourself!

Dark Knight Vehicles

The Dark Knight is finally out in theaters all over North America. The streets are packed and everyone is crowded the entrances in theaters all over in hopes of good seats. I hope to see the film sometime on opening . Its widely anticipated; but as for myself I really want to see the new rendition of the joker played by Heath Ledger. Just by looking at the trailer, I can tell this is going to be a good film.

I bet a million people are trying to find a torrent for this video. I say... shame on you! I think this is defiantly a theater worthy movie. I've been a fan of the Batman stories since I was quite young. I really enjoyed the Art Deco themed animated series of Batman back in the 1990s. It help keep me involved in story. Tim Burton's renditions of the Batman story to film was really well done. I enjoyed the first two films. The others following were okay but not as good as the first two.

I took some photos on my cell phone of the Dark Knight vehicles when they were in Toronto last week, before they were taken back to California the following day.

The Happening

This is one of the strangest films I've seen in a while. It was really creepy and odd. Some parts are hard to watch others will make you just laugh. The horrible acting is actually comical and the decent violence in it is pretty out-standing and realistic. This film paid pretty good homage to Hitchhock. The use of music and the feeling of the in escapable danger that you fear you cannot run away from.

This film was quite strange but alright. I think everyone should give it a chance once it hits DVD's for rentals.

The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible Hulk movie was actually pretty good. I really enjoyed it and i thought the Hulk really did look convincing and real. The story was good and it helped those who don't know much about the Hulk, have a further understanding about what he is and why is is the way he is... okay that was confusing but hopefully you know what i mean.

The fight at the end was meh... it actually kind of reminded me of Iron Man's last show down in his film. Are all superhero movies going to end this way now? With CG'ed hero and villain having a show-down completely in CG? Either way, the effects were alright and i didn't mind the acting.

Iron Man

I've never really been a fan of the Iron Man comics, mostly because I never really picked up one as a kid. I was too fixed on stories of the X-Men and Spider-Man to really get into anyone new. I decided to find out what Iron Man was all about by checking out the Iron Man movie played by Robert.

The movie was jam-packed full of hilarious comments by Robert. Was actually one of the key highlights of the film for me more than the action and story. The action was alright and the effects weren't too bad. However i did not like the completely CG-animated scene with Iron Man shooting a tank... that really turned the quality of the film down a notch for me. It felt almost unbelievable and unreal in a bad way.

The end fight was a bit boring but least it helped close the film. There were many hits towards the Avengers film which will be later on produced in a few years, featuring Iron Man, Ant-Man and the Hulk plus a few others such as like Captain America.

Hancock

Hancock staring Will Smith was an awesome film but however some people might be miss led by the type of film it is. Its not your traditional superhero action flick with a superhero that must save the city from this equally or more powerful villain. Its a drama story using superheroic characters. So don't expect some large battle at the end of the movie; though there defiantly is some foes and some fighting.

The effects in this film are incredible and I also really did enjoy the plot of the movie. Its got many twists and bends, though some are predictable, there were still moments where i was shocked and surprised at the turn of events.

This movie is defiantly not for kids... lots of blood, cursing and a man's head shoved up the rear ass of another man's. I say you should all go out and buy a ticket to see Hancock while its still in theaters, its got enough action to keep you interested and the story is pretty touching.

The beginning of this film was absolutely perfect. However the second have the film had just too many twists to keep up with. The action was great but the drawn out fight scene between the two superheros was actually kind of ridiculous and i partially didn't like that scene at all, though the effects were well done. That scene would have only made scene if there was a villain of the same strength. Other than that i did'nt quite understand the reason behind why they were fighting.

I recently heard from a friend that the Hilton Hotel in San Diego has been bombed following a bomb threat previous. I hope nobody was killed but from what im hearing... there's a massive hold on the hotel and its leaning now... eeep :S

I wonder if it will be blamed on terrorists or an American born extremist.

Prom Night (2008)

This movie was predictable and bad.

Basically the movie is about a teacher that gets obsessed with one of his students so he decides to kill everyone she knows in order to get to her.

One thing about this film that absolutely everyone can agree on is... how incredibly hilarious it is that bodies just fly across rooms out of closets, cupboards and vents without anyone tossing them... as if they were pulled by some rope tied to a truck. For that bit of cheese, I'm giving this movie a 2/10.

Ironically this film did well in box offices. Perhaps screening the film during the time high-school has completely was a good idea!

Run Fatboy Run

Today I watched Run Fatboy Run which is a UK based comedy about a man trying to proof to his ex that he can complete something for once in his life. He decides to run a marathon though he is quite unfit and lazy.

The fact that a massive blister gets popped in a guys face just freaks the hell out of me... was so gross but incredibly funny!

The movie was hilarious and i give it 7/10.

Never Back Down

Never Back Down was an alright movie. I was expecting absolute modern-day film shit. But wow... this film wasn't at all too bad. Had pretty good cinematography and an okay storyline that didn't bore me.

This film is 6/10

I judged this movie by its cover. I didn't want to see it when i saw the trailers. But when i was asked to go see it and I did... it was a hell of a lot better than expected. If you like Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), you may want to check this film out.

10, 000 BC

I was hesitate at first to watch 10,000 BC in theaters, after reading terrible reviews and ratings by movie critics. I decided to watch the film anyways, since it did appear to interest me in the trailers alone. I've always been a fan of the creatures of the BC world. Especially the Mammoth and Smilodon the Saber-Toothed Tiger.

I decided to go to a cheaper theater so that if the movie sucked... it wouldn't be much of a financial lose in my pocket change. The movie was about 2 hours long and it was actually enjoyable to watch. Though there were many things I would like to have had different in the film, it defiantly wasn't a bad film. Just not the most amazing film of the year... thats for sure.

The movie takes place in Giza, in 10, 000 BC. It features various tribes of different ethnicities. The film tackles a theory of how the pyramids were constructed; which i won't reveal in this review. Its an interesting concept.

Here's the minus's about the film:
The one part of the film that really disappointed me and everyone else watching the movie for the first time, was that the Sabre-tooth tiger has hardly any presence in the film. Maybe only about 2 scenes.

This film almost feels like your watching 300 with Apocolyto merged together. I can't state why since it may reveal some important scenes in the movie.

I give this film a 6/10
